Minnesota Vikings’ Teddy Bridgewater could miss the 2016 season

Teddy Bridgewater was at the Vikings facility at Winter Park on Thursday, meeting with his family, advisers and team personnel to plan the first steps in his recovery from a season ending left knee injury. Surgical fix will be scheduled within the next few days. Bridgewater had to be transported from the Vikings’ practice facility and sedated after he crumpled to the turf.

The 23-year-old helped lead the Vikings to the NFC North championship last season. The visible and audible frustration from Teddy’s teammates is a reflection of the team’s optimism going into the upcoming season. Tice, a former Maryland quarterback, liked to give other former Terrapins, like Hill, a hand up into the NFL. CDA News first reported that Teddy Bridgewater was taken directly to a hospital and the Vikings called off their practice as soon as the injury occurred.

“Today is a disappointing day. We have maybe the best running back in the NFL”, Zimmer said.

“Everybody can count us out but I think that’d be the wrong thing to do”. It’s laughable to think a team that went 11-5 previous year would place its offense and its hopes in the hands of a failed quarterback who wouldn’t make most National Football League rosters.

As of early Wednesday, Vikings fans have answered the question “If the Vikings acquire a veteran quarterback, who would you prefer?” with Glennon, 26, the rangy former N.C. State QB who is now Jameis Winston’s backup with the Buccaneers. Spielman said a decision about when and where to have the operation should be made before the weekend. Defensive tackle Scott Crichton and safety Antone Exum were waived with an injured designation.

Zimmer said Bridgewater had been sedated and was getting an MRI on the knee.

“This happens over 100,000 times a year in this country and it’s just unfortunate it happened to him”, said Dr. Ryan Morgan, an orthopedic surgeon. He’s going to be a handful until I get him squared away, but I love this kid.

“It feels good to see his face and see him smile and be able to look in his eyes and see that his mind is in the right place, ” Peterson said.
