Minnesota Vikings vs. San Diego Chargers

And that won’t be changing this year.

With most starters likely to take their last snaps of the preseason this week, there’ll be plenty to see as U.S. Bank Stadium opens its doors for the first time ever, and the action will air nationally on Fox. But he said he ended up changing his mind. The Chargers were down for most of the game, so they only had 25 rushing attempts, but the Vikings have given up 4.5 yards per throughout the preseason, so that will need to be fixed before playing the Titans in week one. “That’s pretty much what it came down to”. Zimmer did say he had no concern about his quarterback, and he hammered that home after Sunday’s game. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said last week that if Peterson wanted to play, he would be receptive.

“I told you there was nothing to worry about, ” Zimmer said.

The U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, where the Vikings will face the San Diego Chargers Sunday, hosted a Metallica concert last week that left numerous 50,000 attendees complaining about the noise levels. While a lot of the reviews from US Bank Stadium thus far have been far from glowing (from the concession stands to the concourse traffic jams), it is nice to know that the Vikings may not only have kept that advantage, but that they may actually have even more of an advantage.

The 10-year veteran hasn’t had an exhibition carry since he suffered a serious knee injury in December 2011.

Sparano said he will leave it up to Zimmer as to who starts Sunday against San Diego. “But I still have that opportunity on Sunday night (Sept. 18 home opener) against Green Bay”. “There’s some good and some bad”.

“I think after about five or six games it will be flawless”, Gordon said.

Peterson did note that he sat out the 2012 preseason and ended up rushing for 2,097 yards, second-most in National Football League history. Peterson has had struggles with that formation but claimed he is improving.

On the field, Zimmer lauded the play of Bridgewater, was pleased to see the Vikings run for 122 yards, and generally liked the play of the defense.

“I hope we get it, and I hope I return it for 100-and-some yards”, Patterson said. “Just being more patient”. Perhaps the best play of the day for McKinnon was on third down, when he was stopped a few yards behind the line of scrimmage but kept his legs churning and was able to move the chains. “We’re going to go into this ballgame, we’re going to let them play, and this is a pretty important evaluator as all the preseason games have been and practices”. “It’s just got to get broken in a little bit”.
