A magnitude-3.7 quake struck Saturday off the coast of Daytona Beach, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
There have not been any earthquakes recorded with an epicenter in Florida, but sometimes shocks can be felt from earthquakes offshore.
In recent decades, smaller earthquakes that cause little or no damage have been felt roughly once a year in coastal SC and a small part of adjacent Georgia, the USGS says.

In a study, researchers said that Florida is in a region that is seismically stable, meaning earthquakes are not probable. Only one of these caused damage in 1879, according to the USGS.
