Asked if Muzzo intends to plead not guilty, Greenspan said, “That’s premature”.

Muzzo’s legal team says this was done “quite inadvertently”, adding “we did not intentionally schedule it for election day”.

Marco Muzzo, of King Township, 29, faces a dozen impaired-driving offences and six charges related to the risky operation of a motor vehicle after he allegedly crashed into a minivan carrying six members of a family last Sunday.

Muzzo did not make eye contact with them while standing in the prisoner’s box.

A few placed flowers on the church steps or left messages and donations for the family in the care of organizers.

Until then, 29-year-old Marco Muzzo will remain in custody.

Speaking to his client’s state of mind for the first time since his arrest, Greenspan said the 29-year-old is “devastated”.

On Friday, Greenspan requested that the bail hearing be adjourned to October. 19, the day of the federal election.

“My heart aches for the family…we just want to show support for the victims”, Kathy Mitchell said.

He said he would not answer any questions about the facts of the case, except in court.

Family friends suggested on Thursday that there may be a public visitation for the children and their grandfather on Sunday.

Millie Neville-Lake (2-years-old) and Gary Neville (65-years-old) were all killed following the collision.

There will be two services at the Brampton Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at the northeast corner of Chinguacousy Road and Bovaird Drive West.
