Leander’s 17th Grand Slam title was hailed and celebrated all around the globe, and chatting with CNN-IBN, the tennis ace referred to as it a “blessing”. She won three titles with Paes and two with Sania. Her motto is “Take a leap, chase your dream, eat more cream”.
She returned to the tennis tour in recent years as a coach and now is back playing, perhaps with an eye to competing at next year’s Rio Olympics.
But with no plans to ditch her singles plans, Dellacqua and Shvedova have much to look forward to for the remainder of 2015. “I know he has my back all day long” Hingis said.
This is Mirza ” s first US Open women ” s doubles title and fifth Grand Slam victory overall.
“Yeah, but I’m not Martina Navratilova“, Hingis replied.
“We are happy to be the top seeds and come through”, said Mirza, at the presentation ceremony, where she and Hingis were handed a check for $570,000, which they will split. We didn’t think that this was going to happen so soon.
“Clearly our video games match, type of complement one another, you recognize, together with her on the internet and from me on the again”.
As for the future, Hingis said she has asked both world No. 2 Roger Federer and No. 5 Stan Wawrinka if they want to team up for Switzerland in mixed doubles at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
We were a solid team and were in with a chance in all Slams.
Said Shvedova: “They’re very tough to beat”.
“They’re only doubles players, so they always have time to practice and improve their game”, Shvedova observed.
Australia’s Dellacqua, 30, was seeking her first Grand Slam doubles crown but settles for a sixth runner-up showing, including the 2013 U.S. and Australian Opens and Wimbledon plus the 2008 and 2015 French Opens.

“The fact I’ve made six finals, I’m really proud of that achievement as well”.
