Indianapolis Colts cornerback Darius Butler suffered an ankle injury Saturday night during the team’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Bradford throws a jump ball to Green-Beckham on a fade route in the end zone, which the young receiver pulls down for a 4-yard touchdown pass. Bradford dished out two touchdowns with his only interception coming on a dropped pass.

Fantasy Impact: So far this preseason, Luck has played well going 21-for-26 for 205 yards in about three quarters worth of action. That doesn’t include a nasty hit that Fletcher Cox laid on Luck as he threw. The Eagles outscored the Colts 24-3 before Bradford headed to the sidelines.
“[The Eagles] did a nice job, and we didn’t do the job that we should have done protecting our quarterback”, he said in quotes distributed by the team at halftime.
It is still unsafe to make too much of these games that do not count. In the third quarter, Scott Tolzien and Donte Moncrief had a miscommunication in which Tolzien was picked in the end zone and it looked like Moncrief was on a completely different page. That gave the Eagles eight interceptions in three games. We all know that will mean absolutely nothing when the Eagles arrive at the starting gate for their season opener September 11 against the Cleveland Browns at Lincoln Financial Field, but it is still the preferred conclusion to his preseason.
Doug Pederson was asked about Wentz’s progress after the game and confirmed the rookie quarterback has a shot to suit up.
Robert Turbin’s 81-yard TD run in the third quarter could have gotten Indy back into the game. To that point, the Eagles had outscored their opponents 58-12 during the preseason.
The game was especially encouraging for Huff, the third-round draft pick in 2014 who is entering his third season.
Luck was 13 of 18 for 134 yards. His performance might have put Rueben Randle’s spot in question as Randle was the only receiver not to play in the first half.

The Giants (1-2) didn’t get past the 50-yard line until a facemask penalty on Brandon Bostick on a punt return put them at the Jets 47 with 2:36 left in the third quarter (see full recap). 9-yard pass to running back Trey Williams at the 1:20 mark of the fourth quarter closed things out.
Bradford went 6 for 6 for 56 yards on the Eagles’ second touchdown drive in the second quarter and 5 for 6 for 32 yards on the third-quarter touchdown drive.
With their offensive line already struggling versus the Eagles, Colts LG Jack Mewhort exited in the third quarter with what NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport calls a season-ending ACL tear. Green-Beckham was picked up in a recent trade with Tennessee. Venturi re-played it and explained what happened, which I think did a really good job of setting the record straight and preventing people from just running with a misunderstanding (which, again, shows the importance of watching film).

There is still a rookie in waiting, and the Eagles were also encouraged by what they saw from second overall pick Carson Wentz on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Field, even though it was long before the opening kickoff. Even backup quarterback Chase Daniel got into the act as he hit David Watford from 28 yards out in the fourth quarter to stretch the Eagles’ lead to 33-10.
