The Misfit Shine 2 Swimmer’s Edition, which is also referred to as the Speedo Shine 2, is available now for order and is slated to ship in the next two to three weeks.
“Whether you’re training competitively or swimming for fitness, you want your focus to be on speed and form – not tracking laps”. And now its swim-friendly cousin, the Speedo Shine, is getting those same useful upgrades with the new Speedo Shine 2.
Along with the “proprietary lap-counting algorithms” which appeared in the first Speedo Shine, you now get a vibration motor and multicolour lights which allow for what the company calls “multifaceted user feedback”.
Fitness trackers today are more geared towards the runner or the cyclist.
Misfit has launched a new version of its fitness tracker for swimmers, the Speedo Shine 2 Swimmer’s Edition, promising health metrics both in and out of the pool. But the Speedo Shine 2, which sells for $119, ten dollars more than the regular Shine 2, also facilitates call and text reminders and compatibility with Misfit Link, which makes the device into an IoT remote.
The Misfit Shine 2 and Misfit Ray are two of only a handful of fitness trackers that are actually waterproof.
Speedo Shine 2 features Misfit’s most advanced hardware and firmware, which offers dramatically improved touch responsiveness with capacitive touch technology, faster syncing, and an extended Bluetooth range. Crafted from clear anodized aircraft-grade aluminum, Speedo Shine 2 is water resistant to 50 meters.
Will you be picking up a Speedo Shine 2? The also device works with Speedo’s personalized swim tracking app, Speedo Fit, to provide a fine-grain resolution into your swim fitness.
