Miss America Organization executive chairman Sam Haskell told The Associated Press his group reached a settlement with the estate of songwriter Bernie Wayne that will allow the song to be used again. “There was an incredible amount of shame & humiliation she was confronted with because of what happened to me, and at that point I wanted to get on with my life”, Williams said.

“That’s one of the problems that I’ve had to deal with for my career”. Alayna Westcom, Miss Vermont, brought in her medical background by demonstrating a science experiment on stage – combusting hydrogen peroxide, and causing foam to burst forth from tubes and cylinders.

For the first time since she was crowned Miss America in 1984, Vanessa Williams will return to the Miss America competition as Head Judge!

During an interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts, Williams explained how all of that is in the past and said that her relationship with the Miss America organization is enjoying a new chapter.

“People would ride by the house and beep things and yell stuff”, Williams said.
