Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez has reflected on the experience she had at this year’s Miss Universe pageant. “Each of you are incredible human beings and I am the luckiest woman in the world to have the support not only of one country but of the world!”, Arevalo wrote.
“Your destiny is written for you”, she continued.
Gutierrez, 21, said that even though she only wore the crown for a few minutes, “I was able to bring happiness to my country”, ABC reported.
Host Steve Harvey wrongly declared her as the victor of the worldwide beauty tilt on Monday.
Harvey’s gaffe caused considerable trauma in Colombia, where beauty pageants are taken seriously.
Still, despite that probably being the worst moment of her life, Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez Arevalo, has seemed to be handling things about as well as one could.
Miss Gutierrez also proved that she was a good sport by offering her support to the Miss Universe victor.
“The happiness that you must be feeling must be incredible”, she wrote.
Gutierrez spoke up about the incident at the Miss Universe event and thanked her supporters. “He was amusing, he was informative, he’s high-energy, he’s got a great following”, Shapiro said on CBS Sports Radio.
“It just was a flat-out mistake”, said Shaprio.
“I definitely want him back”, Shapiro told the Jim Rome Show Tuesday, according to the New York Daily News. Still, many aren’t taking so kindly to what Harvey did by accidentally announcing the Miss Universe 2015 victor.
Miss Universe host Steve Harvey apologised “wholeheartedly” for the mistake afterwards, saying he felt “terrible”.
