Miss Colombia Speaks Out On Instagram After Miss Universe Mix-Up

Writing on Instagram alongside a snap taken at the annual pageant, she shared: “After the storm comes the calm”. “The destiny of every person on this planet is already written, and mine is this”. And my destiny was this.
While the pageants have come into controversy in recent decades amid claims that they serve to degrade and objectify women, Gutierrez said the former Colombian Miss Universe was a national pride.
“Hilton voiced out his support to Wurtzbach, saying she deserved to win, and added that “losing is the best thing that ever happened to Colombia”, congratulations to Philippines”, he added. “It could happen to the best of us”, Shapiro continued.
In the comments section of her post, many Filipinos sent their love to her and thanked her for supporting Pia. On the previous day, Ariadna recalled the moment when she was crowned at the show. Wurtzbach said she had tried to approach Gutierrez backstage, but she was crying. He was then forced to walk back on stage and announce his mistake naming Miss Philippines, announced earlier as 1 runner-up, as the pageant victor.
Harvey said that he accidentally said Miss Universe instead of first runner-up when he called out Miss Colombia, and realized it later upon looking at his note card.
ET’s sources also said Harvey “was mortified” by the error and that it was a “real ego-crusher” for him.

After an exciting Miss Universe 2015 coronation night, second runner-up, Miss USA Oliva Jordan, posted a message on Instagram about the winners announcement mix-up. “I feel bad”, he posted on Twitter. “Secondly, I’d like to apologize to the viewers at that I disappointed as well”. He made an honest mistake that he has owned up to and apologized for. As well as the wonderful contestants.
