“I wake up this morning to find out that I’m speaking at the Republican National Convention”, Tebow posted on Facebook.

Local delegates going to the Republican convention this week said they believe the Trump nomination is settled but they still expect a “wild” convention.
They say they are working to muster 28 signatures from the Rules Committee – one-fourth of the members – by the opening of the convention Monday. “It’s not like ‘aw shucks, ‘ kicking dirt”. In each case, the delegation rallied around the ultimate nominee at the convention – Sen.
“We now go into Plan B”, she said.
The state senator from Dickinson and fellow delegate Kelly Schmidt, the state treasurer, both served on the RNC platform committee this week, with Armstrong co-chairing its subcommittee on agriculture, energy and environment.
It didn’t. Near the end of a marathon session Thursday, the Rules Committee overwhelmingly voted down the proposal by delegate Kendal Unruh of Colorado, who like Lonegan was a supporter of Texas Sen.
While many in the higher echelons of the party may not be thrilled to have the brash New Yorker as their standard-bearer, they’ve clearly made the calculus that the damage from a fractured, fractious convention would be greater than whatever might happen with Mr Trump leading the way for the next four months.
The poll results were mostly gathered before Thursday night’s deadly truck attack in Nice, France, and before Trump’s announcement on Friday that Indiana Governor Mike Pence would be his vice presidential running mate.
Not all of North Dakota’s delegates have boarded the Trump train. He said many delegates have a “question mark” on the eve of the convention. Before a May 26 speech in Bismarck, he shook hands with North Dakota’s delegates and thanked them for putting him over the top.
Borges, who heads the state delegation to the convention and supported Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s bid for the nomination, said there was a period of “mourning” for Kasich followed by acceptance and resolve to help Trump defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Unruh encountered overwhelming opposition from delegates arguing that it would be unthinkable for the party to abandon Trump after he overwhelmingly won GOP primaries and caucuses and garnered more than 13 million votes.
Matthew Colter Hurtt, a Virginia delegate and conservative activist, argued that the traditional conscience clause – which activists like Unruh claim proves the Republican Party has always had essentially unbound delegates – has no real effect.
Smith looking forward to the major event, but admits she’s also feeling a little uneasy.
“Having the convention so close is just a monumental thing, I can’t wait to have it at home”, she said.
Security also is tighter, with protests expected.

I do know that we have a lot of people who want to speak. It’s not alarming, but it’s just there.
