Miss Universe host seeks out ‘winner’ in humiliating apology
Talk about awkward: Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez had to hand over her crown after Steve Harvey erroneously announced she was the victor of the 2015 Miss Universe pageant.

The crown was removed from Aravelo’s head and placed on the mystified Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, the contestant from the Philippines. “I just think that when I was in my 20s and was in her situation, I would take a little while to recover”. It was unbelievable. I really can’t believe that it happened.
Former Miss Universe owner, Donald Trump, commented by saying Harvey is a “terrific guy” and “things like this do happen” on live television.
“I was very happy for Colombia actually, she really deserved it, but I’m really not happy with the result and so are the other girls, I’m sorry to say it”, added Sarah-Lorraine. “So maybe I’ll do that in the future”.
Miss Colombia gives a teary statement after being named first runner-up instead of Miss Universe.
In an embarrassing, possibly career-ending blunder, Steve Harvey announced that Miss Colombia was the victor of the Miss Universe 2015 beauty pageant, when in fact, she was supposed to be the first runner up.
“To me, our queen is and will remain Miss Universe”.
Vergara, a Colombian-American actress, 43, has supported Gutierrez online by posting to Instagram a photo of her brief moment with the Miss Universe sash alongside the caption: “La Reina de todos modos”. He took to Twitter following the incident to post an apology message and even met with Miss Philippines after the event to convey his personal apologies. “I was happy because I really wanted to win but felt sad for Miss Colombia”.
He captioned the image, “I had the chance to apologize to Miss Philippines and I’m thankful”.

“I was confused. I wasn’t sure what was going on”, Pia said to Entertainment Tonight in a backstage interview on Sunday night. It said, “Philippines, please take your first walk as Miss Universe” after Colombia was crowned.
