Riad Hijab, former Syrian prime minister and head of the main Syrian opposition group, the High Negotiations Committee, said there had been “58 clear massacres committed by the Russian military against Syrian civilians alone in the last 10 days”. “This must be clear to all in the world”, Davutoglu told reporters Monday while en route to the Ukrainian capital of Kiev.

The number of respondents who said they knew a little about the conflict but didn’t follow it closely was 69 percent, in October and November, it was 64 percent.

He is expected to meet with officials Tuesday to discuss the latest developments in the war-torn country and his efforts to restart peace talks in Geneva by the end of the month. MSF also supplies medicine and equipment to the facility.

Earlier, the Observatory said nine people, including a child, had been killed in the strikes near Maaret al-Numan in the northern province of Idlib.

The Observatory and al-Halaby said an air raid struck a school in the village of Kaljibrin, near Azaz.

Also in Marat Numan, another strike hit the National Hospital on the north edge of town, killing two nurses, the Observatory said.

Mr Davutoglu said on Monday that his country would not allow Kurdish forces to take Azaz, just 8km from the Turkish border, and for a third day Turkey’s army shelled positions of Kurdish fighters that Ankara regards as terrorists.

Syria condemned Turkey’s actions Sunday and sent letters to the U.N. Security Council, calling on it to intervene, according to Syrian state news agency SANA.

The French Foreign Ministry also urged Turkey to halt the artillery strikes on Kurdish areas in Syria. The Kurdish YPG militia has exploited the situation, seizing ground from Syrian rebels to extend its presence along the Turkish border.

The group says five patients were killed, as well as a caretaker and a hospital guard.

A hospital in Idlib province run by Doctors Without Borders was destroyed, killing at least seven. Washington has been working closely with Kurdish forces and the Turkish attacks highlighted tensions within the US-led coalition that is battling the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq.

Azaz – six kilometers (four miles) from the Turkish border – has been the scene of recent heavy fighting as the PYD has advanced during a Russian-backed Syrian government offensive against opposition forces.

“We will not let Azaz fall”, Davutoglu was quoted as saying by private NTV television on his plane en route to Ukraine.

“Despite Turkey’s shelling, we are advancing and have captured the town’s train station”.

“According to a medic and two residents, at least five missiles hit the hospital in the town centre and a nearby school, where refugees fleeing a major Syrian army offensive were sheltering”.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said a Russian missile had hit the buildings and that many civilians including children had been killed.
