Investigators say Shaylyn Ammerman was last seen at her father’s home in Spencer, located northwest of Bloomington.
Polygraphs have been administered to two to three people, including the girl’s father.
“They just can’t come into someone’s house and take a baby, it’s wrong”, Tamara Morgan, the girl’s grandmother, said.
She was in the care of her grandmother and father Tuesday in their Spencer home, according to Indiana State Police. “There’s hope, we’re obviously, our folks are out in the rain searching, been slowed down by the weather, but not going home”, Durnil said.
Police also say that some of the search and rescue teams have been slowed down due to onlookers and cars following too closely to their vehicles.
“We’ve got Vigo County search and rescue coming in to assist us with some dogs”.
Durnil said the search “won’t end until we find Shaylyn”. No arrests have been made.
However, police say they are confident that Shaylyn’s mom does not know where she is.
The girl’s mother, Jessica Stewart, reportedly claimed that Ammerman was having a party Tuesday night.
Shaylyn was reported missing to authorities in Owen County around 9 a.m. Wednesday. She may have a blue and white “Winnie the Pooh” blanket with her, according to the release. She was last seen wearing a white zip-up “sleeper” decorated with owls with a purple pacifier attached.
