Missing Connecticut couple millions of dollars in debt
The investigation into the disappearance of an Easton couple has been turned over to the state police as concerns grow that they may have been victims of a crime.

Jeanette and Jeffrey Navin have not been seen since August 4 and were reported missing on Friday.
Police claim there is nothing to believe foul play was involved in their disappearance, even though state police found their pickup truck, which was vandalized, at the exit 42 park and ride off the Merritt. Family members object to the focus on finances and point out that the couple, who earned up to $216,000 a year, haven’t touched their bank accounts in this “overwhelming and troubling time”, the Daily News reports.
A Connecticut couple has disappeared days after losing their latest appeal in a multimillion-dollar foreclosure case, a disappearance that a local police chief said appears increasingly suspicious though the pair’s family said it may be unrelated to their financial woes.
Navin took out a mortgage on the home – a six-bedroom, five-bath, 8,265-square foot residence on a 10½-acre lot, according to Zillow.com – in 2005 for $1.3 million and stopped paying in 2007, the records show.
Weston school employee Jeanette Navin, 55, and her husband Jeffrey Navin, 56 are still missing. In November, Navin was ordered to pay $138,137.79 in $35 weekly payments, plus interest. Jeanette Navin is a school library aide in Weston.
On July 22, less than two weeks before Navin went missing, the appellate court issued an order denying Navin the right to reargue the case.
Hennessey, reached by phone Tuesday morning, declined to comment.
There are no words to describe the impact this has had on their parents, siblings, and children. She is much beloved by staff and students alike, according to Weston Schools Superintendent Colleen Palmer. “We wish only for their safe return”.

According to the secretary of the state’s office, Jeffrey Navin is the president of J&J Refuse Inc., which was incorporated in Connecticut in 1985, and lists a business address of 37 Osborn Farm Road, where the couple resided until this June.
