Missing in Industrial Park Landslide in South China
A landslide today hit an industrial park in south China’s Shenzhen city, crushing a building, with rescuers scrambling through the debris saying they are fearing “grave casualties”. Two workers’ dormitories are among the affected buildings. Over 1,500 firefighters are on the scene.

Four people have been rescued from the debris, with three sustaining minor injuries, it said, citing rescuers.
It was unclear whether there had been any fatalities and Xinhua did not elaborate on the 41 people it said were missing.
Seven fire engines were sent to site with 30 firemen who were being assisted by local residents in searching for trapped victims, an official said.
At least 27 people are missing after a landslide at an industrial park in southern China flattened more than 20 buildings and caused a gas pipeline explosion, state media says.
As of 0900 GMT, rescuers had evacuated more than 900 people from the site, said Xinhua.
Ren Jiguang, the deputy chief of Shenzhen’s public security bureau, told CCTV that most people had been moved to safety before the landslide hit.
