Missing man, granddaughter, 6, found murdered, cops say
A missing child and her grandfather have been found dead in Polk County.

Six-year-old Meredith Jessie, and her grandfather, 50-year-old Mark Weekly, were last seen on July 18, at Weekly’s home on Drane Field Road in Lakeland, when Meredith was left in Weekly’s care.
Deputies discovered Mark and Meredith’s bodies Saturday evening after receiving the initial missing persons report.

A Lakeland woman has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and tampering with evidence after authorities said they found the bodies of her father and 6-year-old daughter inside an outdoor shed.
Sheriff Grady Judd is expected to brief the media on the case at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
