Missing Monterey County toddler found safe, Amber Alert cancelled
An Amber Alert has been issued Thursday for a 2-year-old boy believed to have been taken in a stolen vehicle in Monterey County, the California Highway Patrol said.

After Jacob Vargas was allegedly kidnapped in Soledadabout 6:45 a.m. His first name was initially given as Jason before the information was updated.
The boy, Jason Vargas, is Hispanic, with brown hair and brown eyes. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the location and the man led them to a barn where they located Jacob Vargas and his parent’s 2015 black, Honda Accord.
An Amber Alert was issued by the CHP and is in effect for the following counties: Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Clara.
The vehicle has tinted windows and damage to the left side of the rear bumper.
Anyone who sees the auto or knows where the child might be is asked to call authorities immediately.
