Laura Schwendemann, an 18-year-old from Starbuck, Minn., was last seen October. 14 at a Holiday Gas Station in Alexandria, Minn., according to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office press release.
The farmer in Orange Township found the remains in a field he was harvesting on Monday afternoon and called the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Autopsy and lab tests were being conducted by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office Monday night to positively identify the remains, according to Wolbersen.
Earlier Monday, Wolbersen said a male who was seen with Schwendemann has been questioned and “he continues to be a person that we are interested in and are investigating”.
Information from interviews places her in a 1997 black Geo Prism. It’s described as blue with a 3-foot-tall statue of a boy, with blue clothing and a red hat, positioned at the end of the home’s driveway.
She was last seen October 14th in Alexandria.
“As far as the blue house with a statue, that’s a reference point”. Authorities have searched by air and on the ground for the missing teen.
Capp said there have been several searches near his property since then. The auto has been found but authorities are seeking any information regarding its whereabouts between 9:30 p.m. on October 14 and 10:30 a.m. on October 15.
If you have any information regarding Schwendemann, you’re asked to contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 320-762-8151 or the Pope County Sheriff’s Office at 320-634-5411.
