One witness told investigators a girl later identified as Pinson was bleeding from her face and crying for help at the crossing, the sheriff’s office stated.

A Sheriff’s deputy has announced that the Solano County Sheriff’s Office is now on the hunt for a missing 15-year-old girl from Vallejo and they also have reason to believe that she may have been shot by her abductor on a freeway overpass Wednesday morning.

The Solano County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Vallejo man who might have shot a 15-year-old girl on a freeway overpass this morning, a sheriff’s deputy said. As the witness ran for help, a shot was heard, deputies said. That overcrossing leads from Home Acres to Taylor Avenue. A man, identified as 19 year-old Fernando Castro of Vallejo was pulling Pinson on the crossing, holding a gun in his hand, officials said. However, they did find what appeared to be some blood pooled on the ground.

Pearl Pinson has been identified by family members and witnesses as the girl who is missing.

Pinson was wearing a gray sweater, black leggings, with a black and turquoise backpack. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and possibly wearing reading-type glasses. The sheriff’s office has not confirmed Pinson was shot or the extent of her injuries. Nor was it known if the two left the area together.

The sheriff’s office said Pearl was not in school Wednesday. Castillo says that she now has her dyed green.
