Ted Cruz and John Kasich both suspended their campaigns, leaving the NY business man as the de facto Republican Party candidate for the general election in November.

On Wednesday, Channel 9 spoke with Republicans and Democrats on the local, state and national level.

Beginning to actively solicit donations, while a super PAC backing him also ramps up his activity, means the billionaire will no longer have that club to use against his Democratic opponent in the general election. Now it is all but certain Mr Trump will have the 1237 delegates needed to become the nominee before the July convention in Cleveland, Ohio.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, considering Kasich only won his home state of OH and has 153 delegates in total-about a tenth of Trump’s current count.

Clinton has 1,700 pledged delegates, or 55 percent of the total, while Sanders has 1,410, or 45 percent of the total. “I think when he says women should be punished for having abortions, that is, you know, just beyond anything that I can imagine, I think most women can imagine”. “They are not voting for the party”.
