The previous record of 69 points has occurred three times, most recently on September 17, 2011, when the Tigers shut out Western Illinois. The game was so one-sided the teams agreed to play 10-minute quarters in the second half.

“(Director of football operations) Mike McHugh came up to me in the second quarter and said, ‘Hey, respectfully, let’s have this discussion, ‘ ” first-year coach Barry Odom said. Now starting quarterback Drew Lock and the Missouri Tigers look to win a game they’re heavily favored in at home today. This game was over in about five minutes, as the Tigers romped to a 79-0 victory.
According to NCAA rule, games may be shortened by time if both coaches are in agreement.
“It was a great situation and we’re proud of our kids”, Delaware State coach Kenny Carter said of the comeback effort.
It is the second time in two weeks a FBS game has been shortened due to lack of competitiveness.
Missouri punted early in the second quarter and then scored on its next four possessions to go up 58-0 before the first half ended.

J’Mon Moore led in receiving with 196 yards and two touchdowns in eight catches while Chris Black had 44 yards in three receptions. “Just knowing that the things that we do here work. He’s also a really good pass protector, so he gives you the ability to really get into several different formations”.
The Tigers led 30-0 after the opening period with Moore catching touchdowns of 4, 6 and 9 yards. “I trust the ball, when it’s up in the air, that he’s going to go make a play for me. He shows that day in and day out”. It remains to be seen whether Abeln and guys like running backs Alex Ross and Nate Strong, and wide receivers Ray Wingo and Justin Smith will miss any additional time, but it’s got to be at least a small concern at this point. “That’s a hard place to be in”.
-It was also the first time since ’08 that three receivers had over 100 receiving yards. Missouri entered the game first in the SEC in passing and will likely retain that spot following Lock’s performance.
This Tigers team expected to win, but took nothing for granted. It is the second meeting between the schools.
Defensive lineman Charles Harris might be the best defensive line prospect to have played at Missouri in the last 15 years.

Laurent’s touchdown was supposed to be a running play, but Delaware State left him uncovered when he split wide to the left. That year, the Hornets lost at MI 63-6.
