Mistake-prone Saints now 0-2 after 26-19 loss to Buccaneers

So, after intense and studious review, the New Orleans Saints, improbably, may be the worst NFC team. Brees was sacked four times for 36 yards – with three of the sacks coming from defensive end Jacquies Smith – and he appeared to sting his throwing shoulder on the second sack by Smith early in the second quarter.

On defense, there were five more first downs by penalty, and allowed the Bucs to answer the Saints’ first touchdown drive with a touchdown right before the game to begin the downhill slide. Zach Hocker would ruin one opportunity as he missed a 42 yard field goal wide left. The Buccaneers evened their record at 1-1.

If the second game doesn’t go better, Tampa Bay would be in an 0-2 hole. He finished 24-of-38 for 255 yards with one touchdown and the interception. He also moved past Dan Marino for third all-time in career completions, connecting on the 4,968th of his career. Winston could see more holes in the defense when the Buccaneers visit the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The Saints attempted to go for two after their first touchdown of the quarter, but Snead wasn’t able to bring the completed pass from quarterback Drew Brees into the endzone.

Today’s New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL football game has a start time schedule of 1:00pm eastern time and airs on TV channel FOX in some regions along with DirecTV Sunday Ticket nationwide.

Austin Johnson scored on a 1-yard run. He added, “We need to get back to that”. Bucs cornerback Johnthan Banks made a key stop at the goal line on the two-point conversion to keep it a two-score lead. Martin had just one carry in the second half.

The Saints had another turnover as Willie Snead fumbled the ball away on the next Saints possession. But New Orleans couldn’t make any offensive headway and missed a field goal attempt. Vincent Jackson caught four passes for 51 yards-but outside of Jackson and Seferian-Jenkins, the Bucs had few others produce. A lot. The Titans torched Tampa Bay’s defense with short, quick passes and allowing receivers and especially running backs take advantage of poor tackling and blown coverage. A frustrating afternoon for the Saints so far could see them going into the break with a lead after scoring just once. The fact that they still couldn’t win despite the Bucs generosity only drives home that point even more.

But they were certainly deflating for a team trying to overcome a deficit of at least 16 points in the fourth quarter for the first time in what is now 112 such situations in franchise history.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston (3) acknowledges… Defensive end Cam Jordan came close to sacking Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer, but never actually did it. As a result, Palmer extended plays and found receivers who eventually got open.

Last week, the Buccaneers garnered 181 yards in passing and 92 yards in passing. He was intercepted once and also fumbled twice, although the Saints recovered both. If you remember a season ago the Bucs were embarrassed on Thursday night in Atlanta as the Black Birds beat Tampa 56-14.

Both the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 0-1.

The two teams dropped their first contest of 2015 in underwhelming fashion. The victor likely would consider themselves in the mix to content with Atlanta and Carolina.
