Mitsubishi Motors will unveil a new Mitsubishi eX SUV concept at the upcoming 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, which previews technologies that would filter down into its future products. Mitsubishi said the model shows its future exterior and interior design direction.

Mitsubishi says the eX is a vision for a unique compact SUV for the fast-growing market segment, building on the company’s extensive EV and PHEV development history. The front end is a new interpretation of the Dynamic Shield front design concept. A full suite of the usual safety driving aids is also included, such as a driver monitoring system, automated parking assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert and mitigation, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning and more. However unlike the XR-PHEV which features a hybrid power source, the eX will be an all-electric affair.

Joining these will be a number of models featuring other eco-technologies such as models powered by Clean Diesel engines, minicars, and other eco-friendly vehicles on public days. The Outlander PHEV is linked to a V2H*6 system to reproduce the flow of energy in a day in the life of a home that uses an EV/PHEV. In addition, an obstacle avoidance system uses cameras and radar mounted to the vehicle and communications with vehicles in the vicinity, to detect any obstacles for the auto to avoid.
