Christie, who took a flight to the early-voting state hours after kicking off his presidential campaign in New Jersey on Tuesday, said he’s “confident there will be some politics discussed tonight” when he’s a guest at Romney’s house in Wolfeboro, N.H. Marco Rubio of Florida, is also scheduled to march in the Wolfeboro parade, according to the Post. Christie was also a prominent surrogate for Romney during his presidential campaign in 2012 and delivered the keynote address at Romney’s nomination that year.

The aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of what the aide called the private nature of the event, said the ex- governor and his wife opened their home to the Christie and Rubio families after hearing they would be in town for the holiday weekend.

Just friends, mind you, not prospective endorsees: Time notes that Romney pledged at his “E2 Summit” in Utah last month, attended by Christie and Rubio, along with other would-be presidents, that he doesn’t plan to pick sides in the 2016 GOP primary.
