Mitt Romney: Ted Cruz ‘natural born citizen’
In November and December, Trump held six rallies in Iowa, visited a local production plant and held one town hall, flying home each night. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was born in Canada. “It’s no surprise at all that he’s trying to do what he can to help the candidate that he’s favoring who he thinks shares policy positions with him”.

And while Cruz will continue to crisscross the state, via bus, stopping at coffee shops and sleeping in Iowa hotels at night, Trump’s schedule reflects his need to jet out of town as quickly as he can so that he can sleep in his own bed in his beloved Trump Tower at night.
Trump’s schedule this week, by contrast, illustrates his tendency to get out of town quickly. On Tuesday Trump flew to Claremont and then returned to NY.
“I think there is a question”, McCain said.
“For the smaller airports, the [Cessna] Citation X, and for the larger airports, the Boeing 757”.
He also has a helicopter, which he used while traveling between his Palm Beach mansion and a rally in Hilton Head, South Carolina, on December 30, where once again he did not stay the night.
Trump has characterized the issue of Cruz’s birthplace as “a big problem”, and “very precarious”.
While Trump wakes in his lavish Manhattan apartment, with breathtaking views of the city, his opponents are waking up in hard beds in bland hotels across the nation.
AP Photo/Jim ColeCruz spent Monday night in a motel in Missouri Valley, Iowa, where vending machines sold items with long-past expiry dates. On Thursday, Bush declined four times to say he would support Trump should he become the nominee.
McCain himself was born on a military base in the Panama Canal, an issue raised during his 2008 presidential run against Barack Obama, whose American birth was doubted by some, leading to failed legal challenges.
Responding to reports that 100,000 lower-wage foreigner workers have been allowed to enter the United States under a program for high-skilled workers, Cruz said he would overhaul the whole program.
On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton is off the trail Friday for fundraising, as is her husband former President Bill Clinton. His rallies attract between 3,000 and 20,000 people each time he appears and are often broadcast on television. University of California, Davis law professor Gabriel Chin says questions about a person’s eligibility are “designed to insinuate that the candidate might really be a foreigner or, in any event, that their background is odd, unusual and possibly suspicious”.

Cruz has consistently poked fun at Trump’s wealth, telling a late night host that he would like Trump to write his campaign a large check and joking in a GOP debate that the NY builder should personally pay for a wall on the Mexico border.
