Kimbo Slice, who’s real name is Kevin Ferguson, was last seen fighting in Bellator 149 back in February.
“We were informed of his death and after review of the circumstances, we declined jurisdiction”, the office told TMZ.
Details surrounding Kimbo’s death are unclear.
American Top Team, a facility where he trained in Coconut Creek, Florida, announced Slice’s death on Twitter.”The ATT Family and South Florida community lost a legend today”.
The CEO of Bellator MMA confirmed the news … saying, “We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family’. One of the most popular MMA fighters ever, Kimbo was a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport”, the statement said.
On June 6, the fighter was admitted to a hospital near his home in Coral Springs, Florida.
UFC offers its honest condolences to Slice’s family, friends and teammates at American Top Team.
While he will never be forgotten for his fighting style and transcendent image, Slice will also be remembered for his warm personality and commitment to his family and friends. He quickly became a YouTube sensation, known for winning many backyard fights.
An intimidating, nearly hulk-like figure in the ring, the 6-foot-2 234-pound Slice achieved perhaps the biggest victory of his career past year when he picked up a TKO of UFC legend Ken Shamrock at Bellator 138.
Slice leaves behind six children – three girls and three boys – and his long-time girlfriend.
Slice soon graduated from street fights into organized pugilism.

Born Kevin Ferguson, Slice had been homeless for a spell and earned money as a strip club bouncer and bareknuckle fighter before signing up as a UFC combatant.
