Miyazaki: Demon’s Souls Remaster up to Sony

Earlier this year, From Software President Hidetaka Miyazaki announced that they’re working on new IP, and they have no plans for any sequels, spin-offs, or tie-ins to any of their existing franchises. In an interview with Gamespot, the director clarified his stance.

Dark Soul 3: Armoured Core?

If someone says they want to make a Dark Souls game using the latest in technology, and if it is sufficiently attractive, then it wouldn’t be fair for me to just finish the series.

“I don’t think I get everything right with my decisions, but I do have faith in the decisions I make based on the visions I hold”, Miyazaki tells Klepek. “Development of a new IP has already begun”.

But how does Miyazaki feel about being so intimately entwined with the Souls series? “Armored Core is one of the pillars of From Software’s lineup, but I can’t reveal anything at the moment”, he said. “I don’t want to be branded a liar if that happens [laughs]”.

Replacing knights and pyromancers with giant, gun-wielding robots would be an interesting change in tone and pace for a From Software game. It’s good to see that From aren’t getting stuck in a Souls rut, though.

Although it’s by no means an Indie Cindy, Demon’s Souls was a game that slipped many by upon initial release.

Dark Souls 3 on Xbox One is now on sale via Xbox Ultimate Game Sale. It’s that thread – that near constant sense of progress – that leads to Dark Souls 3’s greatest moments.

But before the curtain finally closes down on “Dark Souls 3” as a whole, the studio has been keen to introduce some new kind of excitement. The only thing I’m interested in is to keep creating something special.

Currently, there are two planned DLCs for “Dark Souls 3” although their titles have yet to be revealed. That’s Miyazaki’s way, and don’t expect him to change it any time soon. There will be new weapons, armors, and gears as well for gamers to collect throughout the game.
