New Manchester United boss Mourinho – who succeeded Louis van Gaal – is set to stamp his mark on the Old Trafford squad this summer and has already added young defender Eric Bailly to his squad after signing the Ivorian from Spanish side Villarreal.
And Dortmund insist they won’t sell the wantaway midfielder after already losing two big stars this summer.
The Armenian international’s agent Mino Raiola has admitted his player wants to head to the Premier League, despite Dortmund previously saying they would block any move.
Raiola said: “Manchester United is a unique opportunity”.
“Now we know that it is not extended, it was never our commitment that Mkhitaryan may leave us prematurely”.
“Those in charge at BVB promised Micki months ago that he can leave the club in the summer”, Raiola said.
“Suddenly, they tell Micki, that he should go next season on a free transfer”.
It was claimed that Manchester United had already submitted a £19million bid for the Amernia global – an offer that was subsequently rejected by Dortmund officials who are keen to keep hold of their star.
“We have intensely discussed the question of an early transfer in all club bodies and came to the conclusion that Mkhitaryan will stay in Dortmund next season”, Watzke said. “This is very bad management”.
The former Liverpool target is keen on a move to Jose Mourinho’s side with his agent suggesting the club is blocking a move.

Mkhitaryan’s current contract expires in 12 months, which has prompted interest from a string of leading European clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham and Juventus. He subsequently joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer in the summer of 2014.
