“The Special One” added that he is unsure if Bailly is ready to go straight into the United team, but sees it as his own responsibility to make sure the player can do just that.

This calculates to an annual salary of £10 million (R193 million), and will take his total cost to the Premier League giants to £84 million (R1.6 billion).

Henrikh Mkhitaryan may have a rough transition to English football – as many players often do – but at least he’ll have a friend from his Borussia Dortmund days to keep him company. Have your say in the comments section below.

Ibrahimovic, who left Paris Saint-Germain after four trophy-laden seasons in the French capital, scored 50 goals in all competitions last season and links up with Mourinho once again after the pair worked together at Inter.

“Mourinho said: “Henrikh is a very talented footballer who has been in such prolific form for both his club and his country”.

It read: “I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Borussia Dortmund – from the administration to the coaching staff, my team-mates and of course all the awesome fans – for the love and support you have given me in the past seasons”.

” Everyone was waiting for this transfer deal and I’m very happy that everyone can be proud of me because it’s an honour for me to be the first Armenian in the Premier League”, he said.

“I could compare him with players that I had previously but I do not want to do it because the other boys they play for other clubs”, the United boss told MUTV.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was also delighted to get his man and he highlighted Mkhitaryan’s skill, creativity, vision and his eye for goal and expressed his admiration for the player’s ability to unlock the opposition defences. He is very strong physically, he is very fast; it is not so easy to find a fast player when you have a big body and are a heavy guy.
