In the American League, the Boston Red Sox landed four starters on the team and six overall.

Dexter Fowler also made the All-Star game as a starter and will try to play in the game as he continues with his rehab.

The NL starting lineup includes Buster Posey of the San Francisco Giants, Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals and Yoenis Cespedes of the New York Mets. It was Rivera’s last All-Star Game appearance after he announced his retirement as a New York Yankee before the 2013 season started on Monday, April 1, 2013 against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, N.Y. Not only that, in 2014, the A.L. once again came out victorious thanks to a 5-3 win over the N.L.at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minn. “I’ve been through a lot a lot of hard work”.

Said Bryant: “Just having your teammates and your friends there will make it even more special”. It’s kind of a by-product of that, the hard work. Selected to the pitching staff were starter Steven Wright and reliever Craig Kimbrel.

The starters for the A.L. include David Ortiz (BOS), Salvador Perez (KC), Eric Hosmer (KC), Jose Altuve (HOU), Xander Bogaerts (BOS), Manny Machado (BAL), Mike Trout (LAA), Jackie Bradley, Jr.

The All-Star starters reflect a youth movement, with 12 of the 17 players voted into the lineup are age 26 or younger.

After topping the major leagues during the first half of the season as they seek their first title in more than a century, the Chicago Cubs dominated the rosters for next week’s All-Star game.

Their is however one final vote for each the AL and NL team for the all-star game.

Rizzo led NL players with 3.2 million votes, and Zobrist finished 88 votes ahead of the Nationals’ Daniel Murphy.

First baseman Anthony Rizzo became the first Cubs player to lead in NL fan voting since Derrek Lee in 2008 – when the Cubs sent eight players to the Midsummer Classic. Salvador Perez and David Ortiz obtained a comfortable lead for the vast majority of the voting process – Perez being the overall leader, with Ortiz not far behind vote-wise in his past year playing baseball.
