MMA fighter Monique Bastos foils robbery attempt again in Brazil
Off to the gym for some Jiu-Jitsu training, Strawweight fighter, Monique Bastos, along with two friends, was approached by two men.

“One of them managed to run away, so I got the motorbike driver with a lion killer and held him in my legs for 20 minutes”.
It’s hard saying just what is the best part of the video: Bastos getting the best of her attacker and calmly cradling him in a modified triangle, or the suspect screaming at the top of his lungs, like he is somehow the person being wronged.
While one man escaped, Bastos was able to place the other in a rear-naked choke before forcing him to the footpath and applying a triangle choke.
A sobbing robber was left begging for his “Daddy” after attempting to attack a woman – unaware she was a martial arts champion. She brought the would-be-mugger down to the ground.
Bastos was able to wrestle the guy to the ground and squeeze his neck between her legs until his face was as red as his shirt, and she did it with a smile on her face.
It’s a bummer, but this isn’t the first time that Monique has been robbed.
“One of the guys grabbed the mobile phone I was carrying”.
“I’ve been through this a few times before, and it’s the second time I fought back”, she said. “It’s a huge risk”, she said, “but I did it to defend myself and my friends, so I used what I learned”.
To rub salt on the robber’s wound, Monique Bastos competes professionally at the 125-pound flyweight division.
