Rounding out the cast is West End Cats singer Nicole Scherzinger, playing Moana’s “playful and strong-willed” mother.

Nicole Scherzinger, Jemaine Clement, Alan Tudyk, Rachel House and Temuera Morrison have joined the voice cast of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Moana.”
“Moana” is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid”, “Aladdin”, “The Princess & the Frog,”) and opens in theaters November 23.
“Our assembled voice cast for this film is beyond our wildest dreams”, said Musker. We learned about a few more characters a couple weeks back, but now we know exactly who will be voicing them. “We are so thankful to have found such extraordinary people who not only capture the voices of these characters, they elevate them in every way”.
A bunch of new characters from Disney’s Moana have been revealed alongside their voice actors, Deadline reports.
“Young navigator Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) teams with demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson) to locate a legendary island, and together the pair explore fantastical lands and encounter incredible sea creatures in this animated adventure from Disney”, reads the film’s synopsis, via Fandango.
Morrison (Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones) voices Moana’s father, Chief Tui. Clement will play Tamatoa a “self-absorbed 50-foot crab” who covers himself in bling in overcompensation due to an inferiority complex.
Lastly, Alan Tudyk voices the village idiot rooster Heihe, who becomes a stow-away on Moana’s journey.
Another one of the character sets we assume to be without dialogue, the Kakamora are, “an intense team of insane, coconut-armored pirates who will stop at nothing to get what they want”. While both are proud of their daughter, and in hopes that she’ll find herself without having to leave the reef that separates their kingdom from the outside world, Tui and Sina want only what’s best for their daughter. Moana’s grandmother, Gramma Tala, is voiced by Rachel House and is described as “kind of the village insane lady” who, like her granddaughter, loves everything about the ocean.
