Mob kills man in Himachal for smuggling cattle
Police received a tip-off that a truck carrying smuggled cows was in Sarahan.

The truck was laden with five cows and ten bulls when the mob stopped and attacked the five passengers travelling in it. They hid themselves in the forest till the police found them and took them to the hospital.
An alleged cow smuggler was lynched by a mob while his four accomplices were apprehended by the police with the help of local people after a almost four-hour chase in the forests in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh on Friday.
After Muslim truck driver Noman was found seriously injured in his truck for reportedly transporting cattle, he was rushed to the hospital by the Himachal Pradesh police, where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to global Business Times, the police suspect Bajrang Dal’s involvement in the slaying.
However, it was also alleged that Noman was beaten to death by Bajrang Dal activists.
The truck, carrying the oxen and cows, was impounded by police.
The body of Noman has been sent for post-mortem.
Noman Akhtar, who belonged to Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, was part of a group of alleged cattle smugglers who were caught by local residents after a chase. They have been booked under different sections of Cruelty against Animals Act. The incident happened on Wednesday night after the information of a man smuggling cows spread in the area.

The incident had sparked outrage throughout the nation and led to many Sahitya Akademi award winners returning their awards as a sign of protest against the incident.
