T-Mobile customers, there’s one more thing that you should know about the changes that are coming to the T-Mobile One plan. Clearly, its strategy of high-value plans is paying off. The plan does carry caveats; it restricts video quality and limits music streaming quality to 500kpbs and gaming to 2mbps.
Verizon customers can now get unlimited data, talk and text for $80 a month.
Looking ahead, T-Mobile forecast adding 2.4 to 3.4 million branded postpaid net additions in 2017.
T-Mobile also clarified that with its HD video streaming, it won’t be optimizing the stream that customers get.
Interestingly, the two added features are near identical to what Verizon introduced in its unlimited data plan, matching number for number. Verizon’s introduction of unlimited data was a response, and T-Mobile has responded in kind rather quickly.
Take note Verizon Unlimited has a 22 GB data cap per billing cycle. Still, that was a service Verizon charged for. Verizon’s, he said, increased to 2.28 from a historical average of around 1.5.
For both Sprint and T-Mobile, the newer unlimited plans do away with throttling. How the balance plays out will be something to focus on for Verizon investors. Verizon’s new deal became available on 13 February.
Don’t forget that Sprint and AT&T also have unlimited offerings.
For the full year, the carrier also expects adjusted Ebitda to be between $10.4 billion and $10.8 billion in adjusted Ebitda, which includes leasing revenues. AT&T offers an unlimited plan to customers who subscribe to its DirecTV satellite service starting at $100 for the first line.

The carrier wars are turning out great for customers.
