Mobile goes underwater to welcome the Galaxy S8 with Sharks
This is the Samsung Galaxy S8 and it looks gorgeous. It’s faster, smarter and sexier than any Samsung before it.

One thing Samsung doesn’t need: a hot new phone.
Samsung will release these devices in India in the coming months. It’s sleek, futuristic, and functional. At least both of these devices have water and dust resistance… although the Galaxy S8 trumps the iPhone again with a stronger IP68 rating, as opposed to IP67 for Apple. And Samsung has all hopes on the latest flagship phone to once and for all put the whole controversy to rest.
The bezels around the screen have been minimised. It calls this the Infinity Display – a name Dell sort of already coined with its XPS 13 laptop. Google is working with them on the aspect ratio to deliver videos the full size of the screen.
The larger 6.2-inch S8+ will come with an OLED display with 529 ppi support.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is a 5.8-inch device with a Super AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution of 1440×2960 pixels. The display isn’t just big, it’s sharp and is the first to get mobile HDR certification.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be available at carriers and retailers starting April 21. A rear 12MP camera and a front 8MP camera are integrated as well. It’s like Microsoft’s Continuum feature from Windows 10 Mobile, and we were really impressed by our demo. In addition, the devices offer a series of biometric authentications, including a fingerprint scanner and iris scanner.
Bixby will be contextual, which is nothing new today.
At launch, Bixby will be fluent in English, Spanish, Korean and Chinese. The smartphone also comes with earphones from AKG, a partnership struck between the audio giant and Samsung. These earphones will have a comfortable hybrid canal fit for better noise cancellation and will be made from the anti-tangle metal-fabric material.

The Galaxy S8 battery is a 3000mAH affair and Samsung’s still showing faith in the good ol’ 3.5mm headphone jack (which is on the bottom of the handset), despite the presence of a USB Type-C socket. It’s the port of the future, so we’re glad Samsung has finally adopted it.
