Mobile HTC One M9 Finally Getting Android 5.1 OTA Update

One of the key elements of Android 5.0 was its improved performance, but Google is unlikely to stop there in attempting to drive a greater user experience.

For those without news of this update, it would be advisable have you perform regular reviews of your device to see if it appears. This might not necessarily be the main reason, but Motorola Droid Turbo users who have updated to the latest operating system have been reporting numerous problems with their unit since the update.

There is also some expectation that the update is going to be released for the Desire Eye along with the Desire 816, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet. Plus, you will also enjoy the new anti-theft element which will help you keep your phone protected in case of robbery.

Also included in the update are battery enhancements to prolong battery life and improvements to the One M9’s camera software.

Make sure your device has enough space when you perform the upgrade because it will take about 833 MB total.

The entire update will weigh in at a rather massive 833MB, so it would be highly recommended if you were to be connected to a Wi-Fi network in order to get the job done. And don’t worry if you don’t get the notice right away, this is something to be expected when you perform an OTA upgrade. A few weeks back, we saw the update hit the unlocked and AT&T models, with a loose release date for T-Mobile and Verizon’s versions planned for the week after that. To do this, open Setting > About Device > Software updates menu. But as noted by the carrier, the update will be available until August 20.

Currently, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop updates are available for Sony’s Xperia Z2 or Z3. The news is worse of the M7 as it might not ever receive an update into 5.1 Lollipop, as two years old is practically a dinosaur in smartphone years.
