T-Mobile also promised two-times faster data speeds overseas in the 140 countries covered by T-Mobile’s Simple Global perk. For one, you are now looking at a per month cost of $95 (with autopay).

Another complaint was that the basic T-Mobile ONE plan restricted customers to 480p streaming video, unless they paid an extra monthly fee. The carrier previously planned to charge an extra $25 per month just for the unlimited HD video streaming upgrade. While T-Mobile One customers get unlimited data at speeds up to 128kbps, those that opt for T-Mobile One Plus will get speeds up to 256kbps. Today’s announcement from T-Mobile says they will now get a speed boost in that department to 3G data. In other words, this is now the same cost as the current unlimited data plan that T-Mobile offers as a Simple Choice plan, though it may even be slightly better for data hogs.
Perhaps more importantly from a competitive perspective, T-Mobile US bumped up the availability of the One and One Plus packages from the initial September 6 date to September 1, which would seem to counter some of Sprint’s advantage in having its new unlimited plan launch on August 18.

The plan offers unlimited video streaming as long as it’s in SD, and Wi-Fi hotspot support at 2G speeds. The old plan maxed out at 2G mobile hotspot speeds, but the new T-Mobile One offers unlimited mobile hotspot at 3G (512kbps) speeds. Led by its outspoken CEO John Legere, the scrappy carrier has introduced a string of new initiatives that have left its larger rivals chasing it to compete.
And customers certainly gave T-Mobile an earful.

Earlier this month, T-Mobile announced that it would be eliminating data buckets by moving to a T-Mobile One plan that offers unlimited data, text, and calls starting at $70 per month for the first line, $50 for the second line, and $20 for the third up to eight lines. The current plan does include 14 GB of high-speed mobile hot spot service.
