Mobile promises Mexico, Canada wireless minus roaming/long distance fees

As such, T-Mobile will be using the platform to promote its latest “Un-carrier” initiative, “Mobile Without Borders“, which grants customers the opportunity to call, text and use data in the US, Canada and Mexico on one rate plan.

This new promo plan is expected to launch this week, and while an exact date hasn’t been give, it could launch on July 15 alongside Mobile Without Borders.

“Part of our marketing strategy at T-Mobile is to really focus on the big moments and be the most talked about brand in those moments”, a company representative tells Marketing Daily.

“After spending billions buying up Mexican telecoms, AT&T’s CEO is promising “the first seamless network covering Mexico and the US,’ something ‘unique” that ‘nobody else will be able to do for the consumer.’ So much for that”.

If you are in Canada and planning to visit Mexico, you don’t need to pay extra cost for your phone.

The new plan would enable T-Mobile to gain an edge over other Mexican rivals, as it would enter into alliances with the country’s carriers as well as in Canada.

According to CNET, which recently interviewed T-Mobile chief operating officer Mike Sievert, T-Mobile will introduce something “on or before Wednesday” that will offer customers yet another new option.

Uncarrier events are undeniably paying offWhile Mobile Without Borders won’t directly add any revenue to T-Mobile’s bottom line (because, well, it’s not charging anything for it), it’s likely still a smart move for the carrier.
