Apple retail locations seem to have very limited to no stock of the iPhone 7 this year (via 9to5Mac). With the iPhone 7 headphone jack removed, users now have the option of getting headphones with a Lightning port connector or getting a Lightning to mini-jack connector adapter to continue using standard headphones.

With complaints from customers having issues with iPhone 7 availability through Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program, Apple has started informing customers that it’s adding more reservation times for in-store pickup this Friday.

Potentially adding to demand for Apple’s products, China’s quality watchdog said on Wednesday that Samsung would recall 1,858 of its Galaxy Note 7 phones due to its fire-prone batteries, expanding the list of countries where the devices have been recalled.

Apple has said it will not provide figures for launch weekend sales as it has in the past. According to John Stephens, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer at AT&T, he is saying that pre-orders of the new iPhone have exceeded their expectations, and that sales are actually up year-over-year.

Apple ‘provides users with an integrated, scalable, and seamless experience across multiple devices, which we believe will be hard for competitors to replicate in scale, ‘ RBC Capital Markets analyst Amit Daryanani said.

By eliminating the traditional headphone jack, Apple is looking to push more consumers to adopt wireless technology. Apple also announced its wireless headphones, the AirPods.

Earlier in the week, Sprint said that iPhone pre-orders were up 375% year over year. “We have seen a real improvement, exceeding our expectations, Now we’ve got a promo out there, and you would hope the promos would be effective and they certainly are”. After seeing iPhone sales rise year after year, the iPhone 6s in 2016 ushered in the company’s first decline in iPhone sales in history.
