Mobile targets short-term U.S. tourists with new $30 plan
You could be doing them a big favor by telling them about T-Mobile’s new Tourist Plan which debuts on June 12th. Worldwide roaming rates in the USA are among the “highest in the world” for what you get, according to PrepaidPhoneNews.com, and prepaid plans aren’t necessarily any better: data AT&T’s $30 monthly plan, for instance, is capped at 100MB. The plan also supports a Wi-Fi hotspot.

T-Mobile wants to offer a convenient solution with its upcoming three-week plan, specifically crafted for those visiting the United States.
You’ll get a USA number for the time that you’re here but you won’t get any of T-Mobile’s bonus features, like Binge On.
However, this plan will automatically expire after three weeks and if you’re staying longer than that, you would have to of course get a new Tourist Plan. It includes 1,000 minutes for calls within the United States, unlimited texting to U.S. numbers and more than 140 countries and, probably most importantly, unlimited mobile data too.
There is a caveat regarding unlimited mobile data, and that is only the first 2GB are offered at 4G LTE speeds.
Oh, and in case T-Mobile’s data coverage is spotty, there is also 200MB of roaming data within the US. And you’ve got to bring your own GSM phone – the Tourist Plan is strictly a SIM affair. T-Mobile’s SIM card is free if you have an unlocked phone, and T-Mobile says you just need to walk into a store and ask for the “Tourist” plan.

If you plan on heading stateside in the near future and are in need of service, T-Mobile offer appears to be a good one depending on where you plan to travel.
