I don’t know about you, but I am dyingto see wedding photos from this happy couple!

Alec Wells and Katherine Canipe are getting ready for the one-year anniversary of their engagement by finally uploading footage of their horror-style proposal.

In case the ruse seems creepy, rather than romantic, it actually has meaning for the couple.

Today in kitschy marriage proposals I would never, ever want: Kelly Canipe is a huge horror fan.

Anyway, knowing all of this, her boyfriend Alec decided that the only good way to propose to his beloved would be to get a mechanic’s suit and a Michael Myers mask and not just surprise but outright scare her with a proposal. It was there that Wells enlisted a few friends to film Canipe as she walked down the street towards what is known as “Halloween Corner”. Wells jumped out from behind the same bush Michael Myers did in the film while wearing the killer’s traditional blank mask, only this time his victim was crying from happiness when he dropped to one knee and proposed.

Canipe, a connoisseur of chillers who co-hosts the podcast Boys & Ghouls, burst into tears and accepted.

Oh, and for a bonus, you can see their engagement announcement photo below, which is themed after Back To The Future. She posted the result on imgur with a brief mention of the Halloween proposal.

Wells told the United Kingdom newspaper Metro the two plan to Wednesday on November. 13, which is…yep, Friday the 13th.
