In an obvious attack on Rahul Gandhi, Modi returned the barbs the Congress leader had hurled at him on Wednesday in the Lok Sabha over the prime minister’s reluctance to take the opposition on board over various issues.

Modi has, so far, maintained that he is unfazed by the criticism levelled against him, but his prolonged speech on Thursday suggested that the Congress vice-president’s remarks have unsettled the BJP leadership. Modi ji had promised that he will put people with black money behind bars, now they have come up with way to save those people ” .
“Instead of replying my questions, Modi in hour long speech cited quotes of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and launched personal attack on me”. Elaborating, Mr Modi said, “There are many talented and promising new faces within the Opposition benches and those who disrupt proceedings in the House do so to prevent these new talents from standing out. I hope that after one reads Gandhi and Nehru more, he gains the ideological and political maturity to govern a complex, diverse and handsome country that is the Republic of India”. “Firstly, why did his party change the affidavit in Ishrat Jahan case and the person who was a terrorist in the first month, how did she become innocent in the second month”, he said. “The big challenge before us is… how to increase accountability of the executive”, Modi said.
The prime minister also used quots of the Congress’s own PMs against the latter, something which it also find hard to debate. After hearing Shri Rahul Gandhi, I think India has made the right choice between the Prime Minister who leads the Government and a Prime Minister who is merely implementing decisions taken elsewhere.
Addressing a press conference, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, “The PM seems to be in the grip of Rahul phobia”.
“The ordinance was torn apart when the then honourable prime minister was in the United States to meet (Barack) Obama”.

Rahul said Assam poll results will be same as Bihar because of the hollow promises of NDA government. Modi thinks once he has become the Prime Minister, he is the supreme authority. But did not answer a single question I had asked him. “This is not what I say but this is what former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi said”, he said. “Things may fail or succeed, but the country must remain our only priority”, he said reaching out to the Opposition. “I don’t disagree with it”, said the prime minister. Come, let us work together for the country.
