Modi kickstarts NDA campaign in Bihar, attacks Nitish

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that India can not wait for the second Green Revolution, which must come from eastern states and also called for similar revolutions in energy, milk and fisheries to make the country self-sufficient. “Perhaps, there is a few problem in his DNA”, he said. “Like the Lok Sabha polls, give us a twothird majority in the upcoming state assembly polls for development of Bihar”.

Hence, it is expected that BJP might not declare its CM’s face and fight elections riding high on Modi wave to beat Nitish Kumar’s development agenda.

The meeting between the veteran Bollywood actor and Kumar at the CM’s residence took place not long after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state.

Responding to this barb, Kumar said that his DNA was the same as the people of Bihar.

He will also inaugurate the Suvidha Train between Patna and Mumbai and the Daniyawan Biharsharif rail line. “So, I will give Bihar much more, but at the right time”.

The gifts came in form of special schemes and announcements.

In an agrarian state like Bihar where farmers comprise a major vote bank, the PM also thanked them for “sowing record pulses and oilseeds this season” after his request on “Mann Ki Baat”, a programme on radio where Modi speaks on subjects close to his heart. “In the past five years when our government was not in power, Bihar had received only Rs 1.50 lakh crore”, he said. “What Bihar needs today is water, roads, jobs, industries and development”. He blamed the UPA for failing to complete the Barauni fertilizer factory in Bihar.

However, reacting to his announcements, JD(U) president Sharad Yadav said that he did not announce any new schemes and merely repackaged old ones, Zee news reported. Yet, again he is back asking voters to give another chance to develop Bihar. “I think of Nitish as my elder brother, have admiration for him, so I meet him for tea whenever I am in Patna”, said Mr Sinha. “Railway ministers after Nitish Kumar did not do any work and projects were stalled until I took power”, he said. In his speech, the Prime Minister had said that Kumar had last year told the people in the state that he would not seek votes if he is not able to provide electricity throughout the state.

All Central Ministers from Bihar are likely to attend the rally, including Union Ministers Ramvilas Paswan, Upendra Kushwaha and former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.
