While flying for Kabul from Moscow post mid-night last night, an all satisfied PM tweeted, ” Goodbye Russia.,.I, leave with a great sense of satisfaction that this visit will further cement India-Russia ties”. The two nations inked 16 deals ranging from joint helicopter manufacture and Indian development of components for Russian nuclear reactors to oil and gas exploration and an easier visa regime for businesspersons from the nations to travel to each other’s countries. The bloc ratified a resolution on starting its expansion procedures of granting India and Pakistan full membership of the organization at its summer summit in Ufa, capital of Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic.
According to a programme of action agreed between India’s Department of Atomic Energy and the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom), there will be localisation of manufacturing in India of Russian-designed nuclear reactor units.
Reliance Defense, an Indian arms firm, said Thursday that it signed a manufacturing and maintenance deal worth about $6 billion with the Russia’s Almaz-Antey, which produces the S-400 surface-to-air missiles.
Indian Prime Minister was presented a page from the diary of Mahatma Gandhi and an 18th century Indian sword by the Russian President Vladimir Putin. “There are some people who all the time are engaged in counting problems”, he said while addressing a “Friends of India” event here.
“It is with utmost sadness that Indian National Congress is forced to condemn the behaviour of Modi, because of his evident lack of respect either for the national flag or national anthem”, Surjewala said.
The prime minister said he and the Russian president were “moving creatively in expanding our economic relations”.
However, India eyes Moscow as a potential partner for infrastructure projects as the Modi government seeks to overhaul the country’s railway network and build nuclear energy plants as part of the Make in India foreign investment drive.
Putin’s Leadership Hailing Putin, Modi said in a changing world, his leadership has kept the bilateral relations on a steady course of progress and growth.
On Thursday, Indian firm Reliance Defence said it would work with the Russian manufacturer of the S-400 “on the entire range of air defence missile and radar systems” that India needs.

Bilateral trade between the two countries stands at $10bn (£6.74bn) and Russian Federation is India’s second largest defence supplier. The world was looking at India with hope, and investors were confident of investing in the country.
