Hangzhou (China), Sep 05 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Britain’s new Prime Minister Theresa May in Hangzhou on the sidelines of the G20 summit on Monday.
India and Vietnam signed a dozen agreements in all, including a US$5 million deal to build a technology park in the coastal resort city of Nha Trang.
The interplay of new forces in the Asia-Pacific, and the resulting new geopolitical equation, today demands that India and Vietnam come closer together to realize the benefits of cooperation.
The PM also thanked Turnbull for Australia’s “proactive support” for India’s membership to the NSG.

The 12 agreements signed on Saturday covered areas like health, cyber security, ship-building, United Nations peace-keeping operations and naval information sharing.
Vietnam is India’s country coordinator for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean). China has agreed to have a disarmament dialogue at the Director General level.
There is no confirmation that Xi gave any assurance to Modi over these pressing issues.
“For this, new trade and business opportunities will be tapped to achieve the trade target of $ 15 billion by 2020. And, have invited Vietnamese companies to take advantage of the various schemes and flagship programmes of my government”, he added.
Ahead of the briefing, Vietnamese and Indian Prime Ministers witnessed the signing of 12 agreements and memorandums of understanding on implementing comprehensive strategic partnership.
The leaders also discussed enhancing counter terrorism cooperation. This can be complemented by the increased manufacturing capacities of both India and Vietnam, which have been getting good amount of FDI in their manufacturing sectors.
