Modi pays tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru on birth anniversary
On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru. President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and other dignitaries paid tributes to Pandit Nehru at his memorial Shanti Van in the national capital.

As we all know that today is also celebrated as a Children’s Day in our country.
President Mukherjee, also showered his blessings and wishes on the children, saying that the future of the nation depends on them.
With the global celebration slated for November 20 each year, India celebrates its part on November 14 in honour of Nehru who often cited that children should be nurtured with love and care.
She said that those opposing secularism are against the principles propagated by father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi. The Home Minister said Nehru always took the initiative for proper education and guidance for children as he had realised that India would be a developed country only when its children are properly educated.

“It was because of the contributions of leaders like Nehru, India has become the largest democracy in the world, India is now celebrating the success of democracy”, he said.
