Modi scripting own downfall, farmers abusing him: Rahul

Underlining the dismal presence of the Congress in UP, Mr Gandhi said that a turnaround in Uttar Pradesh alone can ensure the revival of the Congress across India.

“All the projects were launched during the election time and they never cared for its speedy implementation”, Agarwal said.

The government had allowed its controversial land ordinance to lapse on August 31 after failing to enlist requisite support for the measure that dropped consent clause and social impact assessment provision from the 2013 law passed under the previous UPA dispensation. “You may keep on attacking Modi but Modi is attacking himself much more“, Rahul Gandhi said. “Some farmers don’t get seeds while some don’t get fertilisers”, she said.

He said if the BJP comes to power in Patna, the suited-booted friends of the prime minister from New Delhi and Gujarat will come to grab the land of the people of Bihar. “We need to be all the more careful now, otherwise your struggle will go in vain and you will drive away from your land”.

Gandhi, one of the only two Congress MPs from Uttar Pradesh, asked why Modi had not kept his promise of recovering black money stashed overseas and giving Rs.15 lakh out of it to each Indian. “He wants to snatch your land, your rights and give it to his friends in the corporate (sector) who will be the only ones to gain from the projects”. He does not say what he thinks.

Rahul Gandhi is a baby of the Congress. Neither the people in his party nor the people of this country, take him seriously. This has also to be fought in Assemblies”.

The BJP leader said that Feroze Gandhi was committed for the upliftment of the poor and improvement of higher education and for that he had established Rae Bareli degree college in 1959, which was renamed as Feroze Gandhi college after his death on September 8, 1960. 2G rip-off, Commonwealth (Games) rip-off and coal rip-off are all examples of “Take in India”. “But a Rs 40,000-crore tax benefit is being given to foreign investors”, the Congress president said, referring to Centre’s reassurances that the minimum alternate tax would not apply to overseas investors. “Did anyone speak during all the scams or when Congress was routed”, he said. They will ask the farmers to be thrown out.
