In an effort to reach out to the people of the country and directly interact with them, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a town hall style meeting on Saturday, which will be attended by some of the most prominent ministers of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
After PM Modi assumed office in 2014, within a short span of time, he launched the portal MyGov.in to set up a system where a regular citizen of the country could connect with the Prime Minister’s Office and share their ideas or suggestions for good governance. The event marks two years of MyGov, the government’s citizen engagement platform. The contest was won by a team of six engineering students from Delhi Technical University and finally got to develop the app. This will be a first Town Hall by an Indian Prime Minister.
“Prime Minister will launch the app during the second anniversary function of MyGov that we are organising here on August 6”.
The event will culminate with a Town Hall event with the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The third session will invite fresh ideas for improving user-experience, introducing new features, and engaging a larger user-base.

The day-long event will have panel discussions and see the participation of union ministers, including Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Minister of Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad. It has 35.2 lakh registered members, 33.40 lakh comments in 590 discussion themes and about 1.82 lakh submissions in 491 tasks.
