The Winter Session of Parliament, which concluded on December 23, was a “virtual washout” because the Congress-led opposition did not allow both the Houses to function properly with daily disruptions becoming a norm.
Modi, who held a 70-minute interaction with Secretaries to the government of India, appreciated the work done by them over the past year and a half. Oli called up Modi and briefed him on the political developments in his country, days after the Nepalese Cabinet made a decision to amend the Constitution to address keys demands of Madhesis, largely of Indian-origin, from the country’s Terai region over proportional representation and constituency delimitation.
“I am specially appealing to all political parties”.
Surjewala further scoffed at Prime Minister Modi by saying that dismissiveness and disregard for people’s issues has become hallmark of the government.
The Prime Minister presented five business excellence awards to Dalit entrepreneurs.
“We are not merely constructing a road, this is a highway to development”, he said as he recalled the vision of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee about road connectivity in the nation.
The Prime Minister assured the Dalit Entrepreneurs that the Government is working for their benefit.
